chase the evening rays

somedays i chase,
chase the evening rays

like the blue birds in the western sky,
on open roads, i try to fly,

flirting with the breeze, it kisses my face,
i talk to the birds, the ones i race,

slowly slowly i loose them into the setting sun,
so i slow down to admire the tangerine colored one,

but it keeps moving, dipping down and down,
as if signalling me to head back to town,

so i think for a while and hit the brake,
coming to a halt besides a small calm lake,

i then hop onto the bonnet of my scarlet car,
and sit there to wait for my next friend, the pole star

but the travelling clouds seem to have other plans,
they play out the drums to the tune of a rain dance

and the orange sky slowly grows dark and hazy,
like the million thoughts driving me crazy,

but i think i love it, i aint complaining,
cause i can smell the sweet sand as it starts raining,

so i get drenched dancing as long as i can
and head back to town, a washed out, satisfied man

and though often in my home i sit and laze,
but then there are those days when i chase,
chase the evening rays

yesterday night

yesterday night was the night to fulfill your dreams
yesterday night while the moon shown like the sun all bright
sleeping on the bed you locked your mind in space
feeling safe behind the veil of ignorance
but then, the time still was flying
the clock in your mind was just lying

now that the sun is about to break its shackles
and the moon has almost lost its face
there ain't much left to change
all you can do is curse the night gone by
thinking why did you hide, why didn't you fight,
when all along you knew you were anyways gonna die

yesterday night
